Glass makes me cry

So I have a beatiful window that I've been working on and off for about a month on. I sat down with it to finish it off last week, and literally the last bead of solder balled up, and in slow motion, rolled across a piece of glue chip glass and I heard the tiny, sickening "click" of glass breaking... Argh.
Now the disassembly starts.
My heart's just not in it now. Sigh.

Cleaning up the website www.GlassCrush.com

It's finally been updated! Woo hoo!. www.GlassCrush.com now has new photos of our glass lampworking classes (held in the nicer weather!) in the itty bitty studio in Brampton. We've had some great folks through our little place, and I've really had a lot of fun teaching some basic lampworking techniques.
"Learn to Burn" is super basic, but I make sure, after the intial safety lecture, that students are putting things into the flame ASAP. These mini classes are less about structured class, and more about getting right into it and making mistakes as well. Some of the best beads don't start out that way.
I have some class info and links on my website: www.GlassCrush.com

Looking for glass glue

I'm going to have to start searching for "glue alternatives". I have been using a fabulous glue for glass on glass, but am paying about $30 for a tiny little bottle of it - just not cost effective.
I start my search for a cheap, reliable alternative today!

Working in Mosaics.

Here's one of my latest attempts at mosaics. I've been working with the torch for so long I forgot how much fun it is to just cut up glass!
I had to hunt down a special type of glue to adhere glass to glass, and also had to coerce my husband to do the grouting (as that just seemed like to messy a job for me) but overall, I'm pretty happy with the results.
This type of mosaic looks great when there is no light behind the piece as I've added in a few mirror tiles too. When the light shines through it, it completely changes the colour and feel of the window.
A great effect.
I have more pics of windows in progress at www.glasscrush.com/stuff.htm

Virginias latest creation

Just have to brag about my sister-in-law, Virginia's latest work. She's been experimenting with fusing, and it looks like a lot of time was put into this piece...

You can see more of her glass work at http://www.fostercreations.com/glasswork.aspx

Setting up my blog

Here's my first attempt at setting up a blog. I'd like to keep my friends up to date as to upcoming shows, and keep a journal on my journey with glass.
